I can´t believe this post…
I always swore that I would never wear high waist light jeans like mom used to do in the 90`s.
The 90’s are officially back.
The other day I was talking to my brother and he asked me “who decides what’s trendy and what’s not?
And he really made me think…
What’s a trend? Why do they always come back? Is it really creativity or just interventions on past trends?
First we have to really understand de meaning of trend.
The origin o the word trend comes from the word Tendency , a tendency is an inclination to do something.
“A trend is what's hip or popular at a certain point in time”
Basically we are the ones that make a trend happen by simply buying and wearing what the brands offer to us.
I firmly believe that we shouldn’t follow all trends because they are trends; we must search our own style and have our own perspective on fashion.
I must say I’m not a fan of this look, I didn’t quite feel myself and I felt kind of uncomfortable, so why am I posting it?
Because we must take risks and find out if we really hate something or we actually love it and didn’t know… We must be open to trends but not necessarily embrace them all.

Siempre juré que nunca usaría jeans de mezclilla clara a la cintura como mi mamá solía hacer en los 90.
Los 90 están oficialmente de regreso.
El otro día estaba hablando con mi hermano y me peguntó “¿Quién decide que es trendy y qué no?
Y realmente me puso a pensar…
¿Qué es una tendencia? ¿Por qué éstas siempre regresan? ¿Realmente hay creatividad o simplemente estamos interviniendo tendencias pasadas?
Antes que nada tenemos que entender el significado real de la palabra “trend”
El origen de la palabra “trend” viene de la palabra tendencia en ingles, una tendencia es una inclinación a algo.
Un ”trend” es algo que es popular por un tiempo determinado.
Básicamente nosotros somos lo que hacen que una tendencia suceda, simplemente por el hecho de comprar y usar los que las maracas nos ofrecen.
Yo firmemente creo que no deberíamos seguir todas las tendencias al pie de la letra sólo por que son tendencias, nosotros estamos en una continua busca de de nuestro propio estilo y de tener nuestra propia perspectiva de la moda.
Debo decir que no soy fan de este look, por que no me sentí realmente yo y me sentía un poco incomoda, entonces ¿por qué lo estoy publicando?
Por que debemos tomar riesgos y ver si odiamos algo o realmente nos encanta y no sabíamos… Debemos estar abiertos a las tendencias pero no necesariamente amarlas todas.
