I bought my first red lip gloss in MAC when I was 15, I`ve always been a huge fan of Gwen Stefani’s style and since my skin tone is similar to Gwen’s I decide that it was time to use red lips.

Maybe I was a bit young but I realized that I rock red lips.

Now I have at least 5 different shades of red lipsticks, all matte, I’m not longer into glossy lips, I think is uncomfortable and my hair is always sticking into my lips.

A few weeks ago a found these black ankle booties in Zara, they where cheap and so in style right now, the Zara Open Track Sole Booties have it all, the big sole, the ankle cuts and they are black, perfect for this fall.

When I decided to wear them I immediately though of my red Sephora long lasting lips satin, it provides the must bright shade of red and makes my lips look fuller.

Whenever I use red lips I try to use natural eye makeup, sometimes I only apply mascara and if it is a special event I use liquid pen eyeliner to open up my eyes, my favorite look is inspired by the 50s Hollywood stars and the gorgeous pin up star Dita Von Teese in a less “femme fatal” way.

I went for a more casual look with my boot cut black jeans, a white T and a light denim shirt on top.

Red lips will always be elegant and chic but you have to be careful if you apply too much makeup you will look trashy.

My recommendation: Even if your skin tone is darker you can use red lips you just have to find the perfect shade for you.

You can use red lips during the day but remember to wear natural eye makeup.
